Revision singing
Once in a generation the Sacred Harp tunebook is revised, with new songs added, often by contemporary composers. The last revision of the Denson Sacred Harp was in 1991.
The Revision-Music Committee is pleased to announce two special revision singings for 2024: one in Holly Springs, Bremen, GA, USA, and this one in Saltford, Bristol, UK. Finalist songs from more than 1,100 submitted songs will be sung and recorded in these sessions. We expect to sing about 80 finalist songs in each session (notes and words) for a total of approximately 160. The committee will use these sessions and recordings to make final decisions on which songs will be added to the book.
Singers may be interested in the Winchester singing the day before. Winchester is around 2 hours/70 miles from Saltford.
